About Desa Wisata Kenderan
The name Kenderan comes from the word Ke-Indra-an which means Palace of Dewa Indra. Dewa Indra in Hindu belief in Bali, is believed to be God in his manifestation as the God of Rain and the God of War. From a mythological point of view, the name Kenderan is associated with the escape of King Mayadenawa when he fought against Dewa Indra's army, so that he would not be recognized, he changed his form to Widyadara widyadari Kendran.
The ancient heritage of Kenderan Village can be seen from the prehistoric remains in the Manuaba Traditional Village and the Petirtaan of Telaga Waja Temple in the 10th century at Br Kepitu Kendran traditional village. at Puseh Manuaba Temple.
Data from the Gianyar Archaeological Service, states that these findings are estimated to have originated from 500-200 BC. There are also ancient statues of Ganesha which are believed to have been a place of worship before the 14th century.
